When I originally created this blog, I promised to share some real estate market news with you. Now seems like the perfect time.

From my perspective as the weather continues to heat up and as gasoline prices continue to rise, the real estate market is showing some strong indications of recovery. After a rather dismal winter hunting land and farm real estate seems lo be moving again. I heard this week that a 400+/- tract is under contract for $ l,900.00 per acre. The property has been on the market for about a month. I also heard there is a 100+/- acre parcel under contract for $2,400 per acre. Only on the market for three weeks. Not bad.

The housing market seems to look a little brighter too. This is the time of year that everyone wants to look at a house. The idea is to get moved and settled in by the time school starts. The City of Demopolis is very fortunate to have a school system that is the envy of every County in the Black Belt. That fact is reflected in the local real estate market. Did you ever hear anyone say “houses in Demopolis are expensive”. The real estate professional’s favorite word;” location, location, location.”
